Africana Studies Program offers an interdisciplinary major, a minor in hip-hop cultures, and a variety of internships and study abroad opportunities. The program embraces new technologies and is a leader in online offerings and digital humanities.

Our faculty encompasses diverse academic backgrounds producing a fertile and exciting interdisciplinary dynamic evident in both our teaching and research. We encourage students from all backgrounds to join us in investigating the historical and contemporary experiences of Africana peoples and how they are shaped by gender, class, race, and other important ideas.
