In the fall 2010, Dr. Lehman Benson (Associate Professor of Management at the UA Eller College of Management) and Dr. Alain-Philippe Durand (SILLC Director and Professor of French) created the SILLC Global Scholarship Fund by each pledging $500.00 annually. The competitive SILLC Global Scholarship benefits UA undergraduate students in good standing (and with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher) who pursue double majors or dual degrees in any of the SILLC majors (Africana Studies, Chinese, Classics, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Religious Studies, Russian) and another major/degree outside the College of Humanities. Competitive applications are announced every academic year in the spring.
