Facilitating Your Dreams: Q & A on Graduate School

December 6, 3pm, East Asian Studies Conference Room, 1st Floor of Learning Services Building (1512 E 1st Street)

Dear Student,

You are invited to an informational session on graduate school for Africana Studies Majors and Minors. We hope that once you have more information about graduate school, you will be more strategic in the pursuit of your dreams.

We will cover topics such as:

o   How do I know if graduate school is for me?

o   What is the GRE?

o   What is the LSAT or GMAT?

o   Does my GPA really matter?

o   How do I pick which schools to apply to?

o   How do I prepare to apply?

o   How do I make myself more competitive for graduate programs?

o   What is a personal statement?

o   How do I choose which professors I should ask for recommendations?

o   What is a legitimate writing sample for graduate school applications?

As you can see by the various questions that come up with the topic of graduate school, one cannot start preparations soon enough.

Please join us for a time of food, refreshments and information. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Althea Tait at atait@email.arizona.edu or 520-621-5761.
