Prof. A-P Durand Awarded Two Grants and Selected for Leadership Institute

Dr. Alain-Philippe Durand, Interim Director of Africana Studies, was recently selected as one of the 2012-2013 UA Academic Leadership Institute Fellows and won two grants at the University of Arizona. Prof. Durand was awarded a $15,000 Online Education Project (OEP) grant to develop Africana Studies major and minor options entirely online. In addition, Prof. Durand was awarded a $3,000 grant from the University of Arizona's Institute for LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) Studies to offer the following FREN 442/542 seminar in the spring 2013 on Thursday at 3:30-6pm: Gender and Sexual Diversity in the French Novel and Cinema of the 1980s and 1990s.
