Program Manager: Health Disparities
Pima County Health Department
B.A.
Africana Studies
2018

With my degree in Africana Studies and Creative writing, I have become a published writer with two books under my belt. I have a children's book centered on an African Folktale and a book of poetry. I am working on a novel. The book talks about growing up in California as a Person of Color. It is a fictionalized memoir of my years growing up in the 1960s and 1970s.

I was also hired by Pima County Health Department as an administrative support specialist, and after a year in this position, I was promoted to Operations Manager. After a year as Operations Manager, I was then promoted to Program Manager over my department in Pima County Health Department: Health Disparities. My degree in Africana Studies has helped me learn how to interact respectfully with people of different races and cultural backgrounds.
